Poodle abuse.

It is believed to be a Malaysian man who did this cruelty to a harmless innocent toy poodle.

Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Selangor was made aware of this video late Sunday night (23.1.11) and had spent Monday and Tuesday gathering the correct & relevant information in order to file in a case with the DVS for their investigation & action.

In the midst of all the information circulating on the Internet, it is difficult to verify the authenticity of some of the more important details, but we have compiled all leads and will be passing this information to DVS and assisting in their investigation

As of this point in time, officials in DVS at Putrajaya & Kuala Lumpur are aware of this case and are also working on locating the culprit.

We have received hundreds of phone calls, e-mails and text messages since yesterday and we thank all netizens who have passed us information. We certainly welcome & appreciate any more concrete evidence and information on the culprit for us to advice the authorities to act on the case. We also hope that friends or relatives of the suspect will come forward to confirm the identity of this person, and provide the authorities with a statement on any history of animal abuse by the suspect.

Mentally-unstable or willfully-cruel people get away with cruelty to animals and are indirectly encouraged to continue when authorities are lax in enforcing animal cruelty laws. Filming it and causing a reaction makes them feel confident and glorified. These are the hidden monsters that start with animals and then continue on to children, women and society in general. They must be stopped and brought to justice swiftly. The authorities must send a very strong message---that cruelty to animals is a crime. SPCA Selangor is abhorred by this act of blatant abuse and urge the public to assist us in finding the culprit.

We sincerely hope that this case will be taken seriously, and that the authorities will make full use of their resources to track down this animal abuser. In Malaysia, the Malaysian Police formed the Technology Crime Investigation Branch (TCIB) in October 1998. It is under the Commercial Crime Investigation Division. The officers in the TCIB are specially trained in cybercriminal investigation methods. The TCIB also lends its assistance to overseas enforcement agencies in investigating online gambling, hacking and illegal distribution of pirated software. I believe, if they were to abandon the dog somewhere / anywhere on the streets, the dog would have a better life than in their care. This is disgraceful. They couple could've sold the dog and get some cash. Not to mention save money. To care for a pet isn't cheap. You'll have to buy their food, give them water, send them for their shots, pay for the medical expenses etc. By selling the poodle, the couple could have used the money to hire someone to clean up the place. The clothes strewn all over. I doubt anyone can see the floor. The place is in such a mess, I'm sure the dog feels trapped and horrified in the small dirty confined area. Dogs need to run about, be active, have joy.

Sushi, the name of the poodle in the video must've been enduring pain and sufferings its entire life. Poor thing, really. The whines said enough. Sushi must be terrified. I wonder if Sushi has fractured bones / internal injuries from being thrown towards the floor across the room, being banged on the door, whacked and hit on its face and body. It would be less cruel if they abandoned the dog elsewhere than attempting to teach it to sit like a bear, instead, abusing it. Honestly, I would care for Sushi. I don't mind keeping another dog at home.

The woman, recording the video, did not do anything about it. She just recorded the whole thing, said a few things (which weren't of any help at all). She didn't even stop him. Conspiracy much? Throwing the dog on the streets isn't as bad / horrible / heartless as tormenting / abusing the dog.

Sushi needs help. Physically & mentally. Poor thing probably has trauma. Wouldn't be surprised if it has human phobia now. Facebook sources have identified the couple as Doreen Loo Phaik Ling and Allan Tan.
